The Bender visual motor gestalt test is a test designed for all ages over 3, and is used for identifying possible mental retardation, learning disorders and neurological impairment. The test consists of nine geometric shapes, which the subject is asked to copy onto a blank sheet of paper. The shapes are constructed so as to demonstrate the perceptual phenomenon of organizing visual stimuli into a conceptual whole.
