Joseph Breuer was an Austrian physiologist and physician (1842-1925), best known for creating the foundations for psychoanalysis, and for his collaboration with Sigmund Freud. Breuer also demonstrated feedback mechanisms, and the role of the vagus nerve in the respiratory system.
