Concrete Operational Stage

The concrete operational stage is the third of the four stages of Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development. In this stage of development, the child is able to carry out logical or conceptual operations with concrete objects. According to Piaget, children usually reach this phase of development at about ages 7 to 11. The concrete operational stage is also associated with other areas of development, such as the reduction of egocentrism and better performance in language tasks.
