Depth Psychology

Depth psychology refers to schools of psychoanalysis, which have focused on giving a certain structural framework to understanding the general functioning and disorders of the human mind. Depth psychology is based on the works of theorists such as Freud, Jung and Adler, and while their theories show several distinctions, all of them have emphasized the importance of both conscious and unconscious processes. In this context, the term “depth” refers to events taking place beneath the ‘surface’ of conscious experiences.
