Berne, Eric

Eric Berne (1910-1970) is the founder of transactional analysis and also introduced the concept of games describing human relations. His book, Games People Play, spent two years at the top of the New York Times bestsellers list, longer than any other non-fictional book before. His writings and concepts earned him worldwide recognition, and the notion of games and the method of transactional analysis continue to influence psychology more than 40 years after his death.
