Exposure Therapy

Exposure therapy is a form of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy, commonly used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and phobias. Exposure therapy is a method where the patient learns to face and gain control of his fears without being further traumatized. The method employs either a gradual introduction of fear-inducing stimuli, or in some cases a more direct confrontation (flooding) may be used.
