Abraham Maslow (1908 – 1970) was an American psychologist best known for his hierarchy of needs theory, which proposed that humans needs can be sorted into a hierarchy, where more fundamental needs must be fulfilled before other higher-level needs can be persued. Maslow has been an important figure in the humanistic approach to psychology.
